Methods of Market Analysis

There are five main methods of market analysis being calculating centred moving averages, extrapolating a trend line, market mapping, forecasting and market research.

Calculating Centred Moving Averages
This will help to eliminate anomalous results and make the trend more obvious.

Extrapolating a Trend Line
This assumes that the trend will always continue as it has previously done. However, in some cases, this doesn’t always happen.

Market Mapping
Based on two variables of your choice e.g. quality and price. Market mapping is based mainly on opinion.

Forecasting
Trying to account for all possible future outcomes. This will allow a variety of suitable strategies to be designed

Market Research
Looking at the market and your competitors to have a complete overview of opportunities and threats.
