Aerobic respiration in humans equation is:
Glucose + Oxygen –> Carbon Dioxide + Water (h20) and Energy
There are many ways to prove respiration such as:
- T – tube experiment. Breathed in side, lime water remained clear, breathed out side, lime water went cloudy. We add CO2 to breathed-out air.
- A mirror goes misty if breathed on shows water is breathed out (metabolic water).
- Body temperature maintained at 37 degrees.
Breathed in air contains 20% oxygen, 78% nitrogen, 0.04% carbon dioxide with water and temperature being at ambient levels.
Breathed out air contains 16% oxygen (4% been used), 78% nitrogen (no difference), 4% carbon dioxide (increase by 3.96%), increase in water coming out and temperature will be constant at 37 degrees.
Aerobic respiration is respiration where there is enough oxygen to respire.
Anaerobic respiration is where there isn’t enough oxygen and therefore not enough oxygen on demand for muscles which causes lactic acid build up or ‘cramp’.
Anaerobic respiration is used to make ethanol otherwise known as alcohol. When yeast an aerobic respire, instead of making lactic acid like humans do, they make ethanol instead. Good job we didn’t make ethanol as every time we run, we would be drunk!
oxygen debt?
Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean.
